Freelance developer · Bath, UK
I help small businesses look after their Umbraco websites: fixing bugs, making changes, keeping the site up to date and moving it when it needs a new home. Small jobs and the odd day here and there are welcome.
Get in touchIf your company has an Umbraco site and no developer to call, that is the gap I fill. I have worked with Umbraco for many years and I deal with the owner directly, in plain English.
Something broken, slow or behaving oddly on your Umbraco site? I track it down and fix it.
Bringing a site up from an older Umbraco release, or moving it to new hosting, with the existing content kept intact.
New page types, templates, front-end markup and styling changes, and small features added to an existing site.
The developer or agency who built it has moved on and nobody knows how it works. Reading other people's code is half the job.
I have been a .NET developer for over 25 years, so I also cover what sits around an Umbraco site: SQL Server, Azure hosting and the wider ASP.NET application. See the main site for the full picture.
I work on the front end of Umbraco sites as well as the back end. That means templates, markup and styling: new page layouts, changes to an existing design, or a front-end refresh for a site that is starting to look dated.
I build to an existing design, or work alongside your designer. If you need a freelance Umbraco front end developer for a handful of template changes or for a bigger refresh, get in touch.
Umbraco 13 reaches end of life on 14 December 2026. After that date it no longer receives free security patches from Umbraco, although paid extended support is available. Umbraco 17 is the current long-term support release, supported until November 2028.
If your site is on Umbraco 13, or on an older release such as 7 or 8, it is worth knowing where you stand before the date arrives rather than after. Many small businesses simply do not know which version they are running.
Drop me a line and I can check the version, tell you what moving to a supported release would involve, and give you an idea of the time it would take. No obligation.
Migrated an existing Umbraco 7 site to new hosting and provided ongoing support and maintenance until it was retired and replaced.
Development and migration work on several Umbraco sites for a design agency, including version upgrades from older Umbraco releases.
Umbraco build with front-end markup, bespoke macros and several years of monthly support.
I am based in Bath and work remotely with clients across the UK. I also work with clients overseas.
What makes Nick stand out is his ability to communicate in a straightforward, approachable manner and to deal effortlessly with technical tasks.
