Many businesses still rely on software built with ASP.NET Web Forms. It works, but the developer has often moved on and fewer people know the technology now. I do, and I keep these applications running. Small jobs and the odd day here and there are welcome.
Get in touchI have worked with ASP.NET since version 1.1, when Web Forms was the only way to build it. I work in VB.NET and C#, and I am used to picking up code that someone else wrote years ago.
Something broken, slow or behaving oddly? I find the cause and fix it, and add features when the business needs them.
Pen-test remediation, library upgrades and hardening of existing applications.
Moving an application to new hosting or to the cloud, including Azure, without breaking what already works.
Performance tuning, indexing, data work, maintenance plans and backup scheduling for the database behind the application.
The original developer has left and nobody understands the code. Reading other people's code is half the job.
Web Forms applications run on the older .NET Framework, not on modern .NET. That does not stop them working, but it does mean they need someone who knows how they behave.
Not always. A working application that is looked after properly can keep doing its job for years.
If you are wondering whether to keep it going or replace it, I can look at the code and the database and give you a straight view, including when leaving it alone is the sensible answer.
